Where Has The Year Gone?

Where has the year gone? That's a question I've been asking myself over the last few days. Carsen is turning one in 4 days and I just can't believe it. This time last year I was preparing my life for him.  I had no idea what to expect being a new mom. He has brought so much love and joy into my life than I ever thought was possible.   Now we are preparing our lives for his little sister.  Our journey becomes more and more an adventure and I'm looking forward to every moment with my kids and husband.   Life is such a gift from God.

Here's a trip down memory lane....

A Quick Visit to San Antonio

We took a quick trip to San Antonio to visit Ulli for her "30th" birthday.  We had such a great time. Carsen got to meet his Great Grandmother Edie for the first time. It was a beautiful day. We ended the trip in a little town called Gruene. If you haven't been there... you need to visit. It's a German town that sits on the Guadalupe River. Super cute. Thanks Larry and Ulli for showing us a great time.  Carsen can't wait to visit you again soon. Love you!

Texas Blue Bonnets

What a beautiful day to sit in Blue Bonnets. Man there were tons of bees.  Pollination is in full force. Carsen wasn't too excited but I was able to get a few pictures. BTW... I did not pick the blue bonnet in his hand.  LOL!

Carsen Gets a Haircut!

Ok. So technically this isn't Carsen's  first haircut.  Travis took him when he was 4 months old to get a trim. This time wasn't planned either. We were on our way out of town to see Travis's mom for her birthday and Travis stopped to get a quick trim. When I went to pick him up, Dena took one look at Carsen and said he needed a trim. I wanted to wait to see how long it would get before he turned 1. But obviously he needed it.  He did really good.

Before...

Distractions were the key...

Trimming the sideburns...

A little off the top...

A little blow dry...

The final product... Dena and Carsen.

Peyton Turns 6!!!

Peyton turned 6 on March 11Th. But because of everything going on with my Dad the party was delayed a month.  Myssy definitely made up for it. Peyton had the cutest party with with her girls from her class. It was a themed party. It was a BYOB.... Bring your own baby. Jk I just made up the BYOB part. Myssy's not tacky like me. LOL! That's just not the "Martha" way. But really all the girls brought there own American Girl doll. All the games were themed around the dolls. For example she had a "pin the baby on the doll"
and an egg on a spoon race where they had to hold the baby in one arm and balance an egg on a spoon in the other hand. She had a arts and craft game where they made sleeping bags for their dolls.  And of course you can't leave out the pinata. All the girls had such a great time.  Myssy you are such a SUPER mom!!!  Carsen had a blast around all the girls. He was right in the middle of everything. He has no problem playing with dolls.  He loves to give them head hugs and kisses.  Such a sweet boy.

Doesn't Carsen look cute in his new hat?

Play date with Daddy!!!

Today Travis decided to take a break from his job overload and came out to play with me and Carsen.  We headed to the mall playground.  I know what you're thinking.  It's taken me a long time to get over my public germ phobia and allow my child to interact with other children. This was our first visit. Carsen and Dad had a blast. I was concentrating on not puking (morning sickness)...
Yea! Lets Go!

Are you watching me?

Yippee Daddy!

Some day Daddy I will be able to do this all by myself. Thanks!

Daddy get off the phone and come play!!!!

I hope no one is watching me yawn.  I'm getting sleepy.

I'm Done... Check you guys later!

You Scream, I Scream, We all Scream for Ice Cream!

Ok so this might be bad parenting.   Travis and I were at Jason's Deli one lovely afternoon. The food to me tasted awful.  Nothing seems to taste right anymore.  So I went to get an ice cream cone. Can't go wrong there. Well it was tasting pretty good. Carsen noticed mommy had something different and wanted to try it.  I said no... he's too young.  Then he looked at me with some sad eyes and I thought well if it's ok to have yogurt why not ice cream. What the heck, we'll give it a try.....
As you can see Travis is holding the cone. So I was obviously talked into it.

Now Carsen is holding the cone... this can only end up bad.

He' looking at me wondering when I'm going to take the cone away because he's enjoying it so much.

Yep... Fun police arrived and Carsen was not happy about it. Moral of the story is.... There's no moral mommy wins. Bad idea Daddy!
