My 36th Birthday...

My 36th Birthday was pretty uneventful considering I was 34 weeks pregnant. Earlier in the week all my girlfriends took me out for a night on the town.... otherwise known as dinner at Mi Cocina. It was so sweet. I have the best girlfriends. I don't have any pictures from that evening but we all had a really good time.

{This melted my heart when I saw it!}

Right when I think my husband has put off my birthday to the last minute, he totally surprises me. He always acts like he didn't get me anything or he hasn't planned anything. It really hurts my feelings because EVERYONE knows how I feel about birthdays. But yet again I woke up to gifts and flowers from my 6 favorite boys ( Travis, Tyler, Preston, Carsen, Mico and Tiger)

{Check out the mixed matched wrapping job... got to love the effort}

For my actual birthday I had dinner with my husband, Lara and Justin. I think this has been a tradition of ours for the last 6 years. And now that I really think about it... it's usually at Bob's Chop House. LOL!!!! Good times.... Next year Lara we will have those Martini's!!!!!!!

This is our LAST pregnancy picture together. Lara is 38 weeks and I'm 34 weeks. FYI... Lara had Presley Anna Belle Isle the next day.

The arrival of Chloe's new best friend. We already have matching outfits for them. LOL!

Baby Chloe's Shower...

Sorry everyone for my lack of blogging. I've been a little pregnant lately. :-)

A few weeks ago my family gave me the most AMAZING shower. I was honestly taken away by all the love shown that day. We are getting very excited about Chloe's arrival. I'm a little behind in getting her room put together but it will be awesome once it's done. I figure she will be in my room for a while so we will be ok. She is all set to arrive on Monday the 19th.

Shout out to all the girls who put this heart warming shower together... Myssy, Teresa, Jill, Lara, and Amy. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful shower. I didn't take any pictures but here are some that were given to me. I had a little boy attached to my hip the entire day. :-) Do you think he might know something is going on?

Dennett Boys Update...

Several of you have been asking about the boys. Here's the latest...

Luke... he started 8th grade this year at Santa Barbara Jr. High.  He loves school (believe it or not) surfing and girls.  They are living close to beach and go surfing every day.

Wyatt.... he started 6th grade this year and actually likes it too. Maybe he's starting to take after big brother in the girl crazy department. That always seems to make school a little more exciting. He wasn't quite there when he was living with us. Wyatt got back into the swing of things with baseball as soon as he got back. He was placed on the All Star Team and was ask to be on the traveling team. He declined. He is also loving being back at the beach.

Nick... he started kindergarten this year. He wasn't real excited about it at first but he's getting used to it. He wasn't sure why he needed to make new friends... he old ones were just fine. He's super smart...already knows how to write his name and his ABC's

All the kids are loving being back in California but miss us at the same time. They sound so happy when you talk to them.  Life is good.

The Orchid of Life...

Today it's been 6 months since my Dad passed away. Wow, 6 months... it still seems like yesterday. There is not a single day that goes by that I don't think about him. I miss him more than anything in this world. Anytime Carsen does something new or cool my first thought is I wish my Dad could see this. I want to call him and tell him about. Just to hear that laugh. Or to hear him say "Don't let that tail wag the dog" LOL!  It's so hard not having him here to share in all these moments. The one thing that makes me smile through all of it is this orchid. My Dad gave me this orchid when Carsen was born.  It has 7 blooms... one for each of his kids??  It makes me feel like he is watching over me. And even though I can't see or talk to him, he's smiling through this orchid.

My Dad had a really green thumb. He was known among his friends for his gardening skills. He told Travis before he passed away how to take care of this orchid because he knew I would kill it.  It's the most precious thing watching Travis take care of it. Just the way he waters it special and really cares for it.  I know it means as much to him as it does to me.  I think Travis feels close to him while he's taking care of it.  Like... "Hey Pops, How am I doing?  Is this enough water?" :-)

My world is not the same without you in it. I miss you!

Itsy Bitsy Spider Carsen Style...

Ok... This video is random but so cute.  I'm not sure when Carsen picked all of this up  but I was amazed. I mean I sing these songs to him but he's never really reacted to them. He really is paying attention to everything around him. I guess I really need to start watching myself even more. He is also starting to mock people. For example we were over at our neighbors the other day and she started to laugh... well he started to laugh like her. So fake. She said is he mocking me? Yup! I just know someday real soon he is  going to bust out in full conversation. Crazy stuff.

I missed the very beginning of this song... oops I had no idea he could do it.

Travis's 40th Birthday Extravaganza

My sweet hubby turned 4o last weekend and I must say he had the best birthday celebration EVER! He started the festivities on Thursday night when some of the guest arrived. I did not take part in the late night out but I heard  it was lots of fun. The next day Travis and all his buddies played golf all day. Travis and Daniel won the scramble against Chip, Michael, David, Trey, and Danny. His official Birthday was Friday. We had dinner at his favorite restaurant, Mi Cocina. Table for 3o please! YIKES and this was all family.  Here are a few pictures from the night!

It's present time!!!!

The best gift EVER!!! Scotty Cameron Titleist putter.  This should help his game.... yea right!

Travis's Uncle Roger and Aunt Janet made the trip for the occasion.

Saturday night was the big party at Cape Buffalo. This consisted of around 70 friends and family.  Travis smiled from ear to ear all night.  There was drinking, dancing, pool shooting and dart playing.  Awesome night.  The band played top 40 music from the 80's and 90's. Travis felt right at home.  LOL!  Along with a few others. Good times....

Now for the real party!!!

Who's this hottie with my husband? Oh wait, that's my sister! I'm watching you Tree

Having a great time.... David and Teresa

Dennett Vacation Trifecta Part III ATLANTA, GA

Last leg of the trifecta.... Atlanta GA

OK... So now we are going to drive 5 hours to see our dear friends Matt, Melissa, and Kennedy.  This is the first time in a year that we have been able to get our kids together to play. Carsen and Kennedy are only 6 weeks apart. They had a blast with each other. It was like they had grown up together. And yes, my child loves to give hugs and kisses. How could you not give a million to Kennedy? She's the cutest little girl.  We had so much fun in Atlanta. The guys got to play golf and Melissa and I hung out with the kids and got caught up. We did manage to get in our traditional Mani/Pedi's. LOL!

Carsen and Kennedy! Together at last!

Such the little gentleman. She would drop the cheerio and then he would pick it up and eat. This went on for days. Then he just showed her how to dump them all out. Way more fun that way.
His kisses are sweet. But his hugs can be dangerous. BTW... Kennedy can hold her own.

This hug started out sweet but ended up in a wrestling match. He never knows when to stop the hug. :-) She was a trooper.

Their first meal together... green beans and turkey! Yummy!

Our big date night!

The four of us having some adult time. It's been too long.

Our trip to Target. Aren't they cute?!

Anything Carsen played with Kennedy wanted to play with too! So they shared. This was Carsens favorite toy while we were there.  I don't think they ever got mad or fought with each other the whole time. Perfect little angles.

The weather was so nice we took the kids to the park. I'm not sure how I fit in this with two babies. I just wanted to see what my future had in store.

Our good bye lunch.... :-(

Travis in a year....

Thanks Matt and Melissa for your awesome hospitality. We enjoyed our time together. Let's not wait another year before we see each other again. We love and miss you!

Dennett Vacation Trifecta Part II HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC

Hilton Head Island was a tropical paradise. I really didn't know what to expect about the east coast. I've always gone to the pacific side or the Gulf of Mexico. I was pleasantly surprised. This beach was made for Carsen. He just started walking 2 weeks ago and now that's all he wants to do. He was all over the beach. Nothing seemed to phase him. He learned how to dig in the sand and put it in his bucket. He also learned how to eat the sand. He didn't seem to mind it.  Overall I give the vacation a perfect 10. The weather was incredible. Highs were in the 80's. I have a lot pictures from this leg of the vacation so I hope you enjoy them.

Carsen's first walk on the beach.

When we got there it was low tide. So it made it easier for Carsen to play in the water without freaking out.

Ok. Now we are getting braver.

Mommy showing Carsen how to dig in wet sand. He was so cute!

I Love the Beach!

Carsen had sand EVERYWHERE!

Look Mommy... I want to leave my mark in the sand.

Where are those darn crabs hiding?

Mary teaching Carsen how to fly his first kite. Spider man

Mommy and Daddy chillaxin...

Carsen would find and play with anything. Very self entertaining.

The family... Carsen was not in the mood. He wanted to head for the water.

Carsen and Daddy hanging out on the lifeguard stand... too cute!

I love this picture.  This captured the moment just right.

Me at 25 weeks.
The essence of Carsen.

Another favorite shot...

My social butterfly.  Everyone would stop us and make a comment about the color of his hair. Other kids on the beach would want to play with him.  Such a friendly family enviroment.

Travis and Carsen having one last moment together before we had to say good bye...
