December 2009

Carsen really enjoyed meeting Santa Claus this year. That seemed to be his favorite word... Claus Claus... and Cookies. His vocabulary is really picking up. You never know what is going to come out of his mouth next. He says... trash truck, dog, juice, up, down, hot, and many many more. He is repeating our words and our actions. Carsen also loves to tell stories and sing songs. He has made up the cutest song. I'll try and capture it on video. Everyday is something new with him. He keeps us laughing constantly. We are always amazed on how fast he picks things up. Such a joy.

Here was our visit with Santa where he asked for a tractor.... for real! So cute!!!

Carsen and Mico's Christmas photo...

I can NEVER leave Chloe unattended. Carsen is constantly wanting to love on her. He just doesn't quite understand why he can't steam roll her. This is a daily battle with him.

A new tradition we started in our house this year was the "Elf on the Shelf". One my closest friends (Jill) got this for Carsen and Chloe. We were supposed to name him and register it but we will have to do that next year. If we were to name it this year his name would be cookies or mimi. We really enjoyed watching Carsen find him every morning. He flies around and reports back to Santa on a daily basis.

Carsen and Chloe hanging out waiting to meet Santa...

He is so protective of Chloe and loves giving kisses. She has to get a 100 kisses from him a day!

Here we are at Carsen's 18 month and Chloe's 2 month wellness check ups. Too cute for words.

Carsen's stats...
weight 24 lbs 30%
height 34 inches 95%
head 19 inches 70%

Chloe's stats
weight 11lbs 9 ozs 75%

Both kids are doing great and right on track for their ages.

Carsen is explaining to Chloe what is about to happen. Chloe doesn't seem to be worried.

That's my baby girl...

Thank God Travis goes with me to these appointments. He has everything under control.

Heaven Has Gained Another Great One...

As if the holiday season wasn't going to be hard enough, my wonderful loving Grandmother entered heaven on December 10th. She was the kind of person that never met a stranger. If you've ever met my Mom she is just like her...full of life, love, and lots of energy. She dedicated her life to her husband of fifty seven years, 6 kids, 18 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Family and God meant everything to her. She will be missed. Heaven has definitely gained a good one. Please keep my Mom and our family in your prayers this holiday season.

Halloween and Thanksgiving 2009

Well I never expected not having any time to blog... LOL! Two kids keeps you super busy but I love it. We've had a crazy holiday season so far. For Halloween my mom came up to help me out. We had such a great time with her. Growing up, my mom always made each holiday super special and I would like to pass that down to my children. I'm not as creative as she is but I've been watching a lot of HGTV to get some ideas. Here's Halloween...

Carsen loves to smile for the camera...

Once again, here's that Carsen pose...
I think this was mom's idea. After we did this I couldn't get him to leave the pumpkin alone.

Who's the bossy boss? Carsen is the bossy boss. Here is Carsen telling Grandma how to carve a pumpkin. Like she hasn't carved 100's before... just like his daddy.

My sweet little pumpkin Chloe. She's only 2 weeks old here.

Carsen and his good friend Cole...

Yea Daddy!

Thanksgiving this year was a tough one. This was the last holiday I was able to spend with my Dad. He loved this holiday because it always brought the family back together around the table. Just like when we were growing up. His presence was really missed this year. It just wasn't the same. And no matter how many times I try, my mashed potatoes will never taste as good as his. But I will keep trying.

We are starting our own traditions here at the Dennett household. I've started cooking my own feast. Yes... I know what you're thinking. I can cook. It's really basic right now but give me a few years. We had all of our kids together and it was wonderful. Travis had a smile on his face the entire day. Preston made his Grandma Lea's famous chocolate dessert and Travis made the turkey. We won't talk about the turkey....LOL! Overall Thanksgiving was a success.

The Dennett Kids...
Ha! I used to say the Dennett boys but not anymore!!!

Preston and his little sissy! Not sure about girls yet.

Tyler and Chloe's first meeting. What a proud big brother!

Aunt Jane getting some Chloe time...

Anyone need a babysitter? I think Chip is available?!?! Yikes!

Cousin Lauren loves babies...

Our Thanksgiving prayer...
The lighting in this video is poor but the message is strong. Myssy did an AWESOME job. This was one of my Dad's favorite songs. Please take a moment and listen to the words. It's not just any "Amazing Grace". After hearing the version it gave me a picture of what my Dad might be doing in heaven. Thanks Myssy for sharing this with us.
