Rub-A-Dub-Dub Three buddies in a Tub...

Last weekend we hung out with our good friends Stacie and Kimmy while Travis was working. Carsen had the BEST time. The picture says it all. Ha! After a long day of playing and then eating pizza these guys were ready for a bath. So why not throw them all in together... right? While Stacie was washing their hair, Kimmy served them ice cream and I was taking the pictures. As Carsen would say... TEAM WOK . What a treat! I'm sure these kids will hate that we document this but it will be great blackmail for when they are teenagers. LOL!

Ok... Who's first?!

These guys should be the models for Pottery Barn Kids.
{do they have spray tans for kids ;-) jk}

A little playtime after bath.

Carsen's latest thing is putting a band aid on anything he hurts...

No post is complete without a picture of Chloe. 7 month post coming soon!

I had and error on Preston's graduation post so keep scrolling to see it. Thanks!

Preston's Graduation {New Post}

2010 Graduate of Augusta High School, Preston Riley Dennett

Two down and two to go! Last weekend we loaded up the family and headed to Augusta Kansas. The trip up there was pretty smooth sailing but I can't say the same for the trip home. I think the kids were just ready to get back into their routines and beds. I can't believe my little Preston is now an adult. He was 10 when Travis and I started dating. Travis used to call him "my little guy". He has grown into one handsome and intelligent young man. We are so proud of you. Preston will be joining his older brother Tyler at the University of Kansas. Go Jayhawks!

It's official!!!!

Surprise Katie!!!!

Operation "Surprise Katie" was a SUCCESS! Katie is the one in our group who is always planning dinners, girls night out, bunco etc., for us so surprising her with a baby shower was the only way to go! It was so much fun planning. The neighborhood girls can throw one heck of a party. And I never knew how handy Kylie is on the grill. Yummy! I hosted the party at my house and prayed for the rain to stay away. It wasn't until an hour before the shower that we decided to keep it to "plan A"(outside) but and hour into it we quickly switched to "plan B"(inside). Overall the night was beautiful. I love our neighborhood. In case you can't figure out from the pictures it was a Sock Monkey theme. And if you know me you know I'm CRAZY about sock monkeys! I had fun putting the decorations together. Enjoy!

Cupcake toppers I made. I've seen these all over the blogging world so I thought I would give it a try. With a little help from Etsy and lots of wine they turned out great!

Emily made the most AMAZING red velvet and lemon cupcakes with cream cheese icing. Ummm...yummy!!
Our guest of honor.
The rest of the pictures are of the settings and tables. The decor I used is from Willow House
(formally known as Southern Living)
Thanks Myssy for allowing me to shop at your house.

The best gift EVER. I got one from my friend Lauren and Chloe loves it. I must share good gifts.
The Ladies of Ashwood... LOL!

What Mother's Day Means To Me....

I don't think you can truly appreciate your mom until you become one. When I think back on all the joy, love, heart ache, and sacrifices my mom has endured over the years by raising seven kids it amazes me. She is the rock of the family and the super glue that holds us together. She has obviously done an incredible job because I can say that my brothers and sisters are all my BEST friends. I hope that one day Carsen and Chloe will say the same.

When I think about Mothers Day growing up it brings me a warm, loving and even sad feeling. I could laugh and cry at the same time. What I remember is waking up early and sneaking in the kitchen and my Dad would be making her breakfast. We would go outside and cut her flowers from the garden and put them in a vase. Then all the kids would run in her room and jump on the bed. She always acted surprised and had a way of making each one of us feel special. We would each tell her our contribution to the breakfast and give her the card we had made. Dad would always run get his camera and take pictures. We called it the "wolf pack family communion" (inside joke... catholic thing ha! ha!) The part that makes me sad is missing my Dad. He played such a big role in making Mothers' Day special.

So Travis when you ask me what I want for Mother's day, there you go! No need for fancy gifts or cards all I want is to be surround by the love of the family we have made together. DOG PILE MOMMY!!!! And that is what Mothers Day means to me. XOXO!

Happy Mothers Day to everyone!
